America’s Laughing Stock

After a Week 2 loss to the Bears, I said the Cowboys were done for the season.  Lots of newspaper writers, bloggers and talking heads kept babbling about how they could still get back in the NFC East race.  After their loss on Monday night, I think it’s safe to say that’s not going to happen.

Adding injury to insult, the Giants broke Tony Romo’s collarbone and he’s likely out for at least 4-6 weeks.  If the Dallas organization was smart, the team would sideline him the rest of the year, because nothing good can come from his return.  But then again, if the Dallas organization was smart, Wade Phillips wouldn’t be the coach.

There’s plenty of talent in Big D, but no direction and no accountability.  Assuming Jerry Jones finally figures out having his puppet on the sideline doesn’t translate into wins, there will be a change at the top.  Until then, the group once known as America’s Team will have to settle for being America’s Laughing Stock!

THERE IT IS!
