Kent Vs Scully
Jeff Kent talks too much.
The surly second-baseman, in speaking with T.J. Simers of the LA Times, said, “Vin Scully talks too much.” Kent was apparently annoyed when many in the media, including Scully, suggested Manny Ramirez’ presence in the lineup was having a positive effect on Kent’s hitting.
Kent decided giving Ramirez credit for his hot streak was insulting. He claimed it diminished his whole career and all the hard work.
He then took a swipe at writers, saying ballplayers hate the press because they view the games on a daily and weekly basis as opposed to the entire six months.
He finished by ripping Scully again, commenting that Scully doesn’t know Kent because Scully doesn’t come into the clubhouse.
It seems to me that Kent talks too much.
THERE IT IS!

I’ll give Kent a partial pardon since the article was written by idiot provocateur T.J. Simers. He’s never seen a front page, so he resorts to tabloid gossip from players that surely have never befriended or respected the man like they have regular beat writers.
On the other hand, gossip or no, you leave Vinny alone. Being a SoCal native himself, he should know better. I’ll be interested to see what Vinny says about him next time he gets an RBI single with Manny on deck.
Jeff Kent is an idiot. Ask the Astros. Ask Barry.
