An Olympic Day for the Ages
Lindsey Vonn started it with a gutty gold in the downhill.
Shani Davis kept it going in the 1,000 meters.
And Shaun White finished it off in the halfpipe.
Three golds.
Three dominating performances.
By three superstars in their sports.
Sometimes Olympic favorites go down in flames. The talk, the hype and the pressure become too great and they fail to deliver.
Not so on Wednesday. Vonn, Davis and White backed up the expectations by performing at their peak. And so we saw a day unlike any we’ve seen before in US Winter Olympic history. And one we’ll likely never see again.
