All-Star Break Thoughts

Josh Hamilton can hit the long ball.

The Home Run Derby needs a new format when the guy who hits 28 in Round One doesn’t win.

Rick Reilly needs a muzzle.

Jonathan Papelbon needs one too.

Dan Uggla can’t field.

Russell Martin can.

Can everybody please stop talking about pitch counts and how long a manager can use a pitcher?  Seriously.  NO, SERIOUSLY.  ENOUGH.  NO MORE.  I MEAN IT!

Brett Favre. (Just checking to see if you were paying attention.  Plus, I hadn’t said his name in the last 10 minutes!)

If the All-Star game goes so long nobody is left in the stadium to watch it, does the final result count?

THERE IT IS!

  1. GREAT GAME!!!!! The worst part was that Tejada, who had, by far, the best game, didn’t win the MVP! The 1st time in my short 29 years, that the game was the best part of the “weekend”!

  2. Agreed with Tejada. I think fielding is overlooked when it comes to the MVP. The National League would have had their gooses cooked a lot earlier by Uggla if it wasn’t for Tejada making a great play in the field, and he had a good offensive game to boot!
Fun Game! I was looking forward to a position player lobbing it in their!
However I think they should have a re-entry rule for position players as well. If the game goes that long and the second tier guys have had some at bats, I want to see A-Rod back in there in the 13th with a chance to win it, I don’t want to see Dan Uggla striking out 3 times and grounding into double plays!
