Oh What A Night!
It’s not December 1963, but Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ song, “Oh What A Night,” certainly applies Thursday.
With the Lakers visiting the Cavs, we get to watch the two best players in the NBA, namely LeBron and Kobe. In the first meeting, LeBron and Co crushed the Lakers. You know Kobe loves a challenge and relishes the bad guy role, so expect the Lakers to come hard to try and regain the upper hand.
As if that isn’t enough for one evening, Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin will faceoff in Pittsburgh. By all accounts, these two don’t like each other and it’s the first meeting since last year’s dramatic playoff series, won by the Penguins en route to the Stanley Cup. Sure, it’s not the same as sending the other team to the offseason after Game 7, but there’s no doubt Alex The Great wants some revenge.
Who knows when the stars will align like this again. I’m just thankful both games are on networks that I get, namely TNT and the NHL Network. Now if only I can cancel my show so I can watch both of them live. Oh well, looks like the DVR will be working overtime!
